The Primer Tool is handheld device born out of frustration from the biological engineers who had to manually rotate the peristaltic stepper motor priming wheels to prime the feed lines at the beginning of each experiment and de-prime the lines at the end. Not only was this time consuming, it also hurt their fingers having to do dozens.
To solve the problem, the Primer Tool was born. Allowing lab personnel to connect the device to the front of the bioreactor via USB cable and control the 6 feed pumps at the press of a button.
With the device being used in the bio labs, the enclosure is constructed out of polypropylene with the button membrane a single molded silicone rubber of 60A durometer to withstand daily cleaning with Isopropyl alcohol and keep other foreign liquids out
